Gentle Removal Aftercare
Cold Compress:
Apply a cold pack to reduce redness, swelling, or discomfort for the first few hours.
Keep the Area Clean & Dry:
Use gentle cleansing and avoid scrubbing. Pat dry with a clean towel.
No Makeup or Harsh Products:
Avoid applying anything to the treated area for at least 24–48 hours.
Avoid Heat & Sweat:
No saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, or heavy workouts for 24–48 hours.
Do Not Pick or Scratch:
The area may scab or flake slightly. Picking can cause scarring or infection.
Apply Healing Ointment (if advised):
Some providers recommend a thin layer of petroleum jelly or antibiotic ointment to promote healing.
Sun Protection:
Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 30+ daily after healing begins to prevent hyperpigmentation.
Expect Fading Over Weeks:
Pigment will break down and fade slowly over 2–6 weeks after each session.
What to expect
-
The treated area may be red, puffy, or slightly tender for a few hours up to 48 hours.
This is a normal inflammatory response.
-
You might feel warmth, like a mild sunburn, for a few hours post-treatment.
-
Small scabs or flaking may form as the skin heals.
Do not pick at them to avoid scarring.
-
In some cases, the pigment may look darker immediately after treatment.
This is normal — it usually begins to fade over the next 7–14 days.
-
A sign of healing; resist scratching to avoid irritation or infection.
-
The tattoo or pigment will lighten slowly over 2–6 weeks as your body flushes out the fragmented ink.
Results accumulate over multiple sessions.
-
Minor whiteheads or tiny bumps can form as the skin purges or reacts. Usually short-lived.
-
The area may remain sensitive to skincare, sunlight, and heat for several days.
